RIP Abby

I lost my friend today. I took her to the Vet today because she has been weak and will not eat. Turns out she was very, very sick. This came on suddenly and I urge everyone to please go check your dog right now! Make sure they are super happy and will eat a treat. They do not know what brought it on, but there was not anything they could do that would not cause her any more pain, or that could kill her in the process. We decided to put her down, so that she would no longer be in pain. I hate this more than anything, this is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I loved Abby so much and looked so forward to hunting with her in South Dakota next Fall. Duke and Lexi will miss there friend so much, and TJ and I will miss her dearly. I am glad to have the few weeks I had with her, she was such a good dog. I love you, Abby.

  1. So sorry to hear that. I've always thought that dogs come into our lives, steal a little piece of our hearts, and we never get that piece back when they are gone but we're forever better for having them.

I'll be thinkin' about you guys.

  2. I am so very sorry. I have no words for you that will help ease the hurt.

Just know that your blog friends care and hope you can retain memories of all the happiness she brought you.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear this. It is hard to say good bye to a family pet - no matter how long you've had them. My 2 dogs are my "boys" and are part of our family. People who don't own pets don't understand the ache you feel when one is lost.

  5. I’m deeply sorry for your loss. Doing the right the thing for our beloved dogs is so hard when we just want to have them around forever, but we have to sometimes make the right choices for them no matter the grief it brings to us. Abbey’s not in pain now and she’ll be in your heart always. I know words are like the wind and they just pass by but time will ease your loss. Chin up and face the dawn with a smile, who knows what joy is just around the corner.

  6. Awww! I'm so sorry girl!! What a rough day ya'll must be going through. I wouldn't know what I'd do without my little Nate (pomeranian). We lost one of our Rot Weilers last December and the 2nd one just passed away a couple of months ago. And like kmurray said, they come and take a little piece of your heart!! I'll be thinking of ya'll!!

  8. Deeply sorry to hear about your loss . . . I despise the day, when it comes, when I have to say good bye to Onyx. Be happy and reflect on the good times you shared and remorseful of the passing.

    My thoughts are with you.
