I want to start this off by Thanking each of you who Follow me and have be-friended me! I just love blogging! I love reading all of yalls blogs, and your comments just touch my heart! Thank yall so very much!
Today I was at Gander Mnt. at the Archery Lanes, first I talked to one of the guys that works there and another man about my bow and how I am liking it. I noticed that for the first time in a few weeks that there were other ladies in the lanes, my age even! I was super excited to possibly make new friends! Oh man, was I EVER wrong! They looked me up and down, gave me the dirtiest looks and didn't even extend a 'Howdy'. I was so hurt I packed up and left. I just wish that girls didn't compete! I would love more than anything if all my girlfriends hunted, and wanted to get together and pop off some arrows with me. I hope to maybe see them again, and I will just be nice as pie and hope they reciprocate! They just hurt my feelings, this is the great outdoors, God's Country; don't they know it isn't a popularity contest? Ah, well. Can't do anything about it, just hope they become more hospitable.

I'm sorry - that really sucks. You are always welcome to shoot at my house or the archery lanes that I'm shooting at... if you are ever in CO.
ReplyDeleteThere was one other gal at the archery shop last week when I started our archery league. She was really nice, which I was thankful for. She had a competition bow and I think she has been shooting league for awhile. I'm just used to shooting in the field and have to admit that when I first drew my bow back it made some funny noises (dirt in the limbs) and I think some pine needles even fell to the ground. Ooops!

They aparently dont understand that hunting is suppose to be a family gathering. Thats what we believe it to be, time to fellowship! I dont bow hunt but i shoot! Cant pul a bow back due to a seperated shoulder injury! i have wanted to bow hunt though for the last few yrs! Tose girls just are jerk and arent there for the right reasons.."HOWDY"!!!!!! lol

ReplyDeleteAmen, I so agree! I am constantly getting negative comments about my appearance on www.shessofly.com...such as "there's another dumb blonde looking to make a buck" etc. Just because I look like a girly-girl doesn't mean that I am stupid or snobby. I welcome and have many friends that are all special in their own unique way and looks should not matter. People should work on not being so judgemental and treat others how they would like to be treated.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that while women are still fighting for equal treatment in the world, and to not be hurt or held back, these women at the archery lanes let petty jealousy drive them to hurt and hold back, another woman. Don't let them keep you from doing something you enjoy so much. I suspect you may out shoot them!
